What Is Culture Fusion

Culture fusion is a world class community and young people hub that will cost over £7.1  million, and has being part funded by My Place giving £5 million to the project.

Culture fusion involves the design, development, construction and refurbisment to create a wold class, state-of-the-art cnetre for young people to attend. It has being designed to attract a wide range of young people, from a wide range of back grounds including people with impairments and learning disabilities. It has also being designed to be a safe place for young people to go and become inclusive and get along with young people from all over the city.

The project has consulted young people through all stages of the project, there is are reference groups who are consulted in all matters such as the location of the centre, the design of the building and what the centre will contain and deliver to the community.

A partnership of voluntary sector organisations are also behind the project , including Bradford Council and lead partner Bradford YMCA. The project is set to cost £7.1 million with £5 million coming from My Place.

My Place aims to deliver world class youth facilities driven by the active participation of young people and their views and needs. My Place has funded 70 projects across England worth £270 million.

what will the centre include?

The centre will be a state-of-the-art centre containing a music studio, roof-top cafe, infomation and advice services aswell as gym, climbing wall and dance studio. 

Where is the project so far?

Culture Fusion has now hired a company to build the building. They are called BAM and are due to start construction on the 31st August 2010.

The Culture Fusion Advisors are meeting with them on Wednesday 25th August at City Hall in Centenary Square at 5 to 7pm.
