Youth Audit Panel
The Youth Audit Panel is a group of young people who go into young people's projects and check out what is happening. They do this by talking to young people and observing what goes on.

Bradford Youth Service wants to deliver high quality youth work that young people enjoy and benefit from and to make sure this happens it is important that young people are involved in assessing the work the Youth Service do.
WHY A YOUTH AUDIT PANEL?
The Youth Audit Panel (YAP) was set up in the Summer of 2005 by Bradford Youth Service with support from the Quality Audit Team. It was set up to involve young people in assessing the standard of youth service provisions across the Bradford-Keighley District and in making recommendations about how things can be improved. YAP is founded on the principle that young people are the experts on their own lives and are the best people to talk to other young people and find out what they want in their youth projects.
WHO ARE THE YOUTH AUDIT PANEL
YAP are a group of young people, predominantly aged between 13 – 19 years old, who volunteer their own time to be involved in – and to involve other young people in – assessing and shaping the standard of the delivery of youth services. The young people come from all over the Bradford-Keighley District and are from different cultural backgrounds.
WHAT DO THE YOUTH AUDIT PANEL DO?
YAP visit different youth service provisions to talk to young people and find out what they think of the youth clubs they attend. They do this by involving the young people in all or parts of an audit workshop they have designed which includes games, questionnaires, discussion exercises and an art exercise designed to find out what young people think their workers. This has been specially designed to find out what young people think in a fun and interactive way. Once the YAPsters have found out what young people think and made their own observations, they use this information to write a report and make recommendations on how the service can be improved. This information is fed back to Senior Managers within the Youth Service who then pass it on to those responsible for the running of the club.
WHAT NEXT FOR THE YOUTH AUDIT PANEL?
YAP are committed to improving services for young people in the Bradford-Keighley District and ensuring that young people are listened to. We have many ideas about how we can move the project forward: - - ‘Youth Worker of the Month’ nominations and ‘Youth Worker of the Year’ awards
- - YAP newsletter with good practice information
- - YAP Calendar
- - ‘Mystery Shopper’ visits
- - YAP Quality Mark
